Chamonix Bar And Nightclub Guide

Chamonix has a fantastic nightlife with plenty of choice, whether it’s for a quite drink or a big night out, there is a place for all occasions.

Chamonix Centre

Chambre 9 – Chamonix

The best place in town for après ski!  Pop your skis out the front with the other hundred pairs, and if you can get through the front door you will find people dancing on tables, a fantastic live band and great happy hour prices.

In the daytime the bar is transformed into a cosy restaurant with outside seating. A tasty menu is served and enjoyed by locals and tourists alike; the plat du jour is definitely a winner.

Bar d'Up – Chamonix

Aussie themed pub with a pool table, sing star evenings, big screen TV for when any major sporting events are on, happy hours, live music and a large covered terrace on rue du Moulin.

Bar du Moulin – Chamonix

A stylish bar with comfortable booth like seating areas for groups, large rooms and double-glazing doors that open out to the river l’Arve.

Moö bar - Chamonix

Moö is a lively bar with good quality beers, wine, cocktails and long drinks. They also have a self service beer station! During After Ski they provide great music, often with live music and good DJ's.

The Pub - Chamonix

The Pub has everything you look for in a typical British establishment - draught beers, footy on the big screen, friendly bar staff and... pies! As well as being a comfortable place to prop up the bar they also have a heated terrace right on the main street so you can sit and watch the world go by. All the main sports matches are shown live, as well as extreme sports videos such as mountain biking, snowboarding and skiing.

Elevation 1904 – Chamonix

Probably one of the most popular bars in town as it ticks all the boxes; large sunny terrace with lots of seating, great food all day (including a full English breakfast) and a steady stream of people who are either popping in for a quick coffee or staying for a pint, a popular hang out for mountain guides, seasonal workers and holidaymakers.  It is also a great place to go in the evening as they have a great DJ and sometimes live music.

Café La Terrasse – Chamonix

You can’t miss the big musty pink art nouveau building in the centre of town.  La Terrasse is definitely one of the most central bars in Chamonix with a fantastic southwest-facing terrace overlooking the Main Square and fantastic views of Mont Blanc.  Although the décor may be a bit outdated, the large 2-story bar does not disappoint with entertainment downstairs every night during high season, a more chilled out cocktail bar upstairs and happy hour prices that are hard to resist!

Bistrot des Sports – Chamonix

Opening out on to the pedestrian street, this is a great place where you can sit amongst the locals, practice your French and enjoy the friendly atmosphere.  Drinks are great value and they also have a reasonably priced lunch/dinner menu.

Les Caves

The stylish downstairs bar of the Cap Horn restaurant. Lovely place to meet for an aperitif before dinner or a place to stay for the evening. It's now possible to order from the full Cap Horn menu. Good DJs and a roomy dance floor.

Hotel Mont Blanc

Classy venue with beautiful decor and details. A lovely bar to visit for any special occasion. The drinks are divine but cost a bit more than the above mentioned bars. Also a nice place for dinner.

Around Chamonix

Bar de Chamonix - Chamonix

After a big day in the mountains this is the best place to go for a quite celebratory drink, a favorite of the French locals. The southwest facing terrace opens out onto the square next to the church so you can catch the last rays of the sun before it sets behind the mountain.

MBC - Micro Brasserie de Chamonix

You have to love the Canadians passion for beer and chicken wings.  5 beers on tap and the popular MBC beer of the month keeps you coming back for more.  A friendly pub atmosphere, with good pub food – especially Monday night wing night when all wings are half price!  10 minute walk from town but opposite the ice-skating rink and sports centre so a perfect place to start and finish after watching a game of ice hockey. Open 4pm-2am
