1/2 Billion Euros to invest in Chamonix resort

A landmark deal has been struck between the Chamonix lift management company, Compagnie du Mont Blanc (CMB) and the town of Chamonix. A record 477 Million Euros will be invested over the next 40 years (over 10M per year) with the majority of development to be done over the next 6 years. This is a part of the new lease deal between the CMB and the lift shareholders, of which the local town hall is the largest.

The agreement has an outline of projects until 2019 for work at Grands Montets, Brevent, Flegere and Le Tour:

2014: New Plan Joran cable car (Grands Montets ski area)
2015: New Plan Praz beginner ski area (Brevent-Flegère ski area)
2016: New Parsa chair lift (Brevent-Flegère ski area)
2016: New Argentiere beginner ski area (Grands Montets ski area)
2017: New Charamillon cable car (Tour ski area)
2019: New Tabé / Marmottons chair lift  (Grands Montets ski area)
2019: Flégère improved access (Brevent-Flegère ski area)
