Children's Ski School

There are 2 main ski schools for group lessons in the valley, Evolution 2 and ESF, and 1 with excellent native English speaking instructors, Alpine Snowsports, for private lessons. We have a close relationship with all of them and are confident to use every year.

It doesn’t matter where in the valley you are staying because they are based all over the Chamonix valley and have different characteristics so we will be able to match you up with the appropriate school based on your requirements.

Start days for ski school

Most ski schools begin lessons on a Monday, however there is the option of starting on Sunday if you arrive to Chamonix on a Saturday.  Children’s ski school lessons run all week from Monday till Friday, so if you would like to start the course from Sunday it is called a ‘warm-up day.’  It is more expensive for the 6 days than the normal 5 day ski school course.

Getting your child to ski school

Chamonix is a large resort made up of 5 separate ski areas so some schools offer a pick up and drop off shuttle service to save you the rush in the morning and to help get your child get to ski school as smoothly as possible.

If you have your own car and would prefer to drive yourself, then all the ski areas have car parks.

Pick up and drops offs are only available to children who are skiing all day.  You will need to collect or drop them off if you book half day lessons.

Adult Lessons

There is so much to learn and improve on when it comes to skiing or snowboarding that it can be overwhelming as to where to start!  Everyone has different goals that they want to achieve during their holiday so we are here to help guide you in the right direction and answer all your questions.

Group lessons

Adult group lessons are usually 3 or 4 half-day morning lessons starting on Mondays.  There is the option of starting from Sunday for a little bit extra.  Lessons are available in different ski areas in Chamonix.

Private Lessons

Private lessons are by far the quickest way to get yourself going on skis or to focus on skills that you want to improve. It is your time, you don’t need to worry about holding up the group, being nervous, or not understanding because your instructor is there to help and look after you.

You can choose from 2hrs, 3hrs, 4hrs or a full day, however the times are fairly set as the instructors have to factor in other lessons.  The two class sizes are 1-2 people or 3-6 so it is great value for money if you have a group of friends who are all of similar level, it can sometimes work out cheaper and be more beneficial to take a private lesson.

Meeting your instructor

Most ski schools offer free pick-ups from your accommodation for 9am lessons, however for lunchtime lessons the meeting point is usually based on your ability and where your instructor is based that day for their other lessons.

Working with the ski schools we will do our best to book your lesson in a place most suited to your needs, your level and the snow and weather conditions.

Booking and payment for ski school

We can take payment for the lessons either in advance or once you have checked-in - if you wish to pay when you arrive we still need to take your card details as a deposit. All ski schools have a cancelation policy, although they all vary a bit generally if you cancel your lesson less than 3 days before you arrive the you will still have to pay.

It is important to contact us us as soon as possible with all your ski school requirements.
